Annual Show | Disley & Lyme Horticultural Society

The annual Disley & Lyme Horticultural Show is the highlight of our calendar year.

The 119th Disley & Lyme Horticultural Show will be held on Saturday 15th August, at Disley Amalgamated Sports Club.

The show features over 40 stalls, a range of competition classes, children's entertainment, live music, food and drink options.

The show hosts competitions in various fields from pot plants, fruit and vegetables and flowers, to cookery, arts and handicrafts, photography, home brewing and the pet show.

There are also dedicated sections for children of all ages.

There is a free, circular shuttle bus serving the show, from Disley Rams Head bus stop and High Lane library.

We’re looking for a new generation of volunteers to invest in future-proofing an established 118 year old Summer Show to continue serving its community. Rewards are the satisfaction of seeing families and children enjoying themselves on the day, helping to encourage a new generation of gardeners and as importantly, a well-earned pint (other drinks are available) on completion!

With over 1200 people attending the show in 2025, we need help with setting up and taking down the marquee exhibition space (marquee is erected by others), badminton hall exhibition space, show field (including setting out, security fencing and erecting and taking down society gazebos, entrance gate, signage etc) and managing the show on the day.
